The LMA is deeply saddened at the news that Kenneth Gutteridge has died at the age of 83.
He passed away at a Burton residential home after a long illness.
Kenneth was vastly experienced within the game having managed Burton Albion and coached at Preston North End, Brighton and Hove Albion and Luton Town. He also enjoyed scouting roles at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Derby County, Walsall, Sheffield Wednesday and Tottenham Hotspur.
During his career Kenneth worked with John Barnwell, Alan Ball Snr, Peter Doherty, Peter Taylor, Alan Mullery, David Pleat, Roy McFarland and Arthur Cox amongst many others.
His son, Peter, said: “Football was dad’s life and his passion from the days when he used to play non-league football with clubs like Burton and Gresley Rovers.”
A funeral service for Mr Gutteridge is due to be held at Markeaton Crematorium, Derby, at 2pm on Wednesday, August 29. |
