In this issue we hear from Wigan Athletic Manager, Roberto Martinez on his philosophy of management and bringing Spanish methods to the English game. We hear from Ray Wilkins on the benefits of gaining experience abroad and from Gary Johnson, who with Yeovil Town has proved that it isn't always the wrong thing to do to go back. We also get some fascinating insight into the commercial challenges at British Boxing with their chief executive, Mark Abberley, we meet the Football League's new commercial director Richard Heaselgrave and we have a chat with Conservative MP, Ken Clarke.
The latest version of The Manager Magazine is the first to be produced by the LMA from its stunning new head offices at the National Football centre, St George's Park. We take a tour of the amazing facilities and meet some of the key people that are set to turn the FA's vision into reality. St George's Park will be the home of all the England teams as well as the national centre for coach and manager education, which the LMA is proud to be a part of. In addition, Howard Wilkinson introduces us to the LMA's brilliant and simple new Leadership Model, a culmination of over two years work in research and development and set to be rolled out in the LMA's first Leadership Programme with young and aspiring managers in October.
The LMA would like to thank its members and commercial partners for their contribution and we hope you enjoy the read!
