Peter Taylor has said that there is no need to panic as his Leicester side was hammered 5-0 at home by Sam Allardyce's Bolton Wanderers side.
The Foxes manager said that his side could have taken chances that were available to him and that the loss of the first goal had resulted in a collapse that even he was amazed at the size of.
He said: "Matt Elliot had a decent chance in the first few minutes, if that goes in everyone would have been lifted but they got the first goal which was very well taken. It was a bad goal for us because I thought Robbie Savage should have stopped the cross and we wouldn't have been 1-0 down but all of a sudden that happens and we seemed to collapse too easily."
The Foxes' boss said that he had been impressed with Michael Ricketts' performance at the front for Bolton but he stressed that Leicester's defence had made it easy for him.
"Ricketts certainly caused our 2 central defenders a problem and they've held their hands up for that.
"Bolton played their system very well and attacked us quickly when they could. In the end they were playing with confidence because they'd scored some goals and we were playing with no confidence at all so we would've looked 10 times worse than we really were."
Taylor was eventually forced to free Mustafa Izzet to try to claw Leicester back into the match.
"[Izzet] has been outstanding in pre-season, he's been given more of a free role and he's played really well, today he just carried on from there but unfortunately we didn't get the ball to him enough.
Taylor was upset at one of the decisions that led to three Bolton goals coming from free kicks.
"I've got to say that for the 3rd goal it's a very poor decision by the referee. He used the 10-yard rule when he didn't need too. He told me that he booked Ade Akinbiyi because he showed decent by pointing at his chest. It will be interesting to see the video."
