Polar - Widespread use in football
Installed as the exclusive supplier of heart rate monitors to the LMA since 2006, Polar’s partnership provides the country’s 92 FA Premier League and Football League managers with access to Polar’s market leading heart rate monitors and support services.
Nearly all Premier League football clubs now use Polar heart rate monitors in their training and as a core tool for monitoring fitness as well as the majority of Championship & Football League clubs and a number of youth teams.
All football managers who are members of the LMA have received an RS400 to raise the importance of heart rate monitoring in maintaining player fitness.
Polar heart rate monitors are also widely used by football officials and were prominently used at the World Cup in South Africa.
Team 2
As well as using individual heart rate monitors, teams also use the Team², Polar’s world class training system for monitoring team heart rate. By simply fitting players with Polar’s unobtrusive Team System transmitter belts, managers can have instant access to a wealth of information on player’s fitness and training including live heart rate data via PDA or laptop on the pitch.
Team 2 provides accurate physiological information for real time or post session analysis and Coaches can build a record of each player’s condition, their overall performance and create reports that compare the whole team or an individuals training session. Precise fitness data motivates players and gives coaches a unique training aid to make immediate changes to training and to tailor fitness programmes accordingly. The data also helps to eliminate major injures and prevent over training.
Polar also has exclusive partnerships with the following leading sports associations: PGMOL, Prozone, UKA, England Hockey, RFUW, RFL and Engage Super League.
