Liverpool Interim Manager Amber Whiteley has been awarded The FA Women’s Championship Manager of the Month trophy for March by the LMA Panel.

Whiteley guided her team to an unbeaten month, earning seven points from a possible nine against Crystal Palace, Coventry United and Blackburn, lifting her team into third place in The FA Women's Championship in the process.

Upon receiving the Manager of the Month trophy Whiteley said: "I’m very proud to collect this award on behalf of the team. This one is for all of us; every staff member and every player. It’s a reflection of the hard work that has been put in both on and away from the pitch in recent months. We’ll continue to push right the way through to the end of the season and aim to finish as strongly as possible."

Chair of the League Managers Association panel Marieanne Spacey-Cale MBE added: "Since Amber took on the reins, Liverpool have regained their form and are competing with Sheffield United to finish third in the league.

"The club is building momentum going into next season, when Liverpool will be aiming to mount a strong promotion challenge and Amber is playing an important role in laying the foundations for this."

The LMA panel for the monthly awards involves three highly experienced individuals with specialist knowledge of the women’s game and football management, including Marieanne Spacey-Cale MBE (LMA Member and Southampton FC Head of Girls and Women’s Football/Head Coach), Jen O’Neill (Editor of She Kicks - women's football magazine) and Alan Curbishley (LMA Board Member and LMA Manager of the Year 1999/2000).
