After many memorable years, my time at Oxford United has come to an end.
It has been a privilege to represent the club as Assistant Manager, First-Team Coach and, when called upon, Caretaker Manager. I am particularly proud to have played a part in the club’s promotion to the Championship and of the results we achieved during my time in charge of the team.
I am grateful to the club’s owners, particularly Erick Thohir, for giving me the opportunity to be part of such an important period in Oxford’s history. I am also grateful to Sumrith “Tiger” Thanakarnjanasuth, whose ongoing support meant a great deal to me. Football clubs are built on good people, and I have been fortunate to work alongside so many fantastic players, coaches and staff during my time at Oxford. I would particularly like to recognise Ed Waldron, Chris Hackett and Lewis Price for their unwavering support during my spell as Caretaker Manager.
Oxford United has a fantastic group of supporters, and I have greatly appreciated the warmth and support shown to me by so many of them over the years. It has meant a great deal, and I will always look back on my time at the club with enormous affection. My brother Chris also leaves the club after several years as part of the sports science team, and I know he shares my feelings. We have both been genuinely touched by the many messages and kind words received from players, staff and supporters since our departure. We leave with some fantastic memories and wish Aaron, his new coaching team and the players every success for the season ahead.
Oxford United has been a very special chapter in both our careers and in our families’ lives—one we will always remember with enormous affection and pride.
