The League Managers Association’s panel, comprising of LMA Chairman Martin O’Neill OBE, Jess Creighton, Les Ferdinand MBE, Sir Alex Ferguson CBE, Barry Fry, Chris Hughton, Mick McCarthy, Stuart Pearce MBE, Clare Tomlinson, Carla Ward, and Rachel Yankey OBE has determined that the Everest Men’s Performance of the Week Award should go to Nottingham Forest for their performance against Sunderland AFC on Friday 24th April.

Vitor Pereira will receive the Everest Men’s Performance of the Week trophy.

Match Report

A sensational first-half display from Nottingham Forest helped the Reds to a 4-0 victory away from home against Sunderland, making it three successive wins for Vítor Pereira’s side and eight unbeaten in all competitions.

After Trai Hume’s own goal from Igor Jesus’ header put Forest ahead on 17 minutes, three further first-half strikes in the space of six minutes from Chris Wood, Morgan Gibbs-White and Jesus put the game out of sight as a contest. Elliot Anderson added a fifth in second half stoppage time to round off the scoring on a brilliant evening for the Reds.

The win moves Forest eight points clear of Tottenham Hotspur in the final relegation place ahead of the weekend’s Premier League action.

Despite a bright start from Pereira’s charges, Sunderland’s Chris Rigg was the first player to bring a save out of either ‘keeper, as the Belgium international turned the winger’s effort on goal away.
