Jocelyn Prêcheur will receive the Everest Women’s Performance of the Week trophy.

Match Report

London City Lionesses secured their first-ever Barclays Women’s Super League points in style, with Izzy Goodwin’s brace sealing a 2–1 win over Everton under the Friday night lights at Goodison Park.

It took just 12 minutes for the Jocelyn Prêcheur’s side to breakthrough, with Goodwin latching onto a loose ball and rifling an unstoppable strike in off the crossbar.

The home side, led by Brian Sørensen, grew into the contest after the opener and tested City’s back line, but the travelling team managed to keep them out.

Wassa Sangaré stood tall with a commanding performance at the heart of defence, while Spanish goalkeeper Elene Lete produced a string of vital saves – denying Karen Holmgaard’s long-range strike in the 22nd minute and keeping out a sharp effort from Kelly Gago just before the break.
