Match Report

Pompey Women produced the result of the WSL2 season, as they stunned previously unbeaten league leaders Charlton by winning 2-0 at The Valley.

Early goals from Izzy Collins and Georgie Freeland secured a deserved win that took the Blues off the foot of the table.

Jay Sadler made four changes from the side that were beaten at Newcastle before the international break.

Evie Milner and Niamh Peacock were both handed first starts, while there were spots for Jesse Woolley and Tia Primmer, as Greta Humphries, Jemima Daou, Angelina Nixon and Meg Hornby made way.

The table suggested that it could be a long night of defending for the visitors, but instead they struck twice inside the opening 10 minutes.
