LMA 2nd Annual Partner Tournament

The League Managers Association proudly hosted its 2nd Annual Partner Tournament, bringing together Members, colleagues and our valued corporate partners for another memorable day at St George’s Park, the home of elite performance in English football.

The tournament, which has now expanded to eight teams, continues to grow each year, providing partners with the unique opportunity to compete at England’s national football centre and be managed by an iconic LMA Member or Ambassador.

This year’s event featured an outstanding line-up of managers, who were each randomly assigned to teams through an FA Cup-style draw:

Garry Monk – Guinness

Chris Hughton – Gama Aviation

Wes Morgan – Toshiba

Nigel Adkins – GRS

Alan Curbishley – Mappin & Webb

Paul Konchesky – Anglian Home Improvements

Phil Brown – SkillCorner

Alan Stubbs – Premier League

Congratulations to Guinness, who not only claimed this year’s title but successfully retained their crown following last year’s victory.

Nick Allsop, Commercial Director at the LMA, commented
: “Firstly, I’d like to say a huge thank you to our Partners and Members who helped us deliver such a unique and memorable experience. The feedback we’ve received so far has been outstanding and it’s clear to see the value of these events, both in terms of strengthening our partnerships, but also demonstrating the scope of our commercial offering.

“Congratulations again to the Guinness team who retained their trophy and we’re all looking forward to seeing if they can achieve a three-peat next year!”

Garry Monk, LMA Member and Manager of the successful Guinness Team, commented
: “These Partner Tournaments are always fantastic occasions, and there’s a real energy about the day from start to finish.

“It’s brilliant to see the enthusiasm from everyone involved, and it also gives us as managers a great chance to reconnect, spend time with peers and enjoy being in that team environment together.

“Competing at St George’s Park makes it even more special for the LMA’s partners, and you can see how much they value the experience. The standard across all the teams was excellent, but a special mention to the Guinness side, a great group to work with and fully deserving of retaining the title.”
