LMA Announces New Technical Partner for Sports and Data Innovation - Orreco

The League Managers Association (LMA) and global sports and data science leader Orreco have agreed a new partnership enhancing continued professional development (CPD) opportunities for practitioners across the professional game and further advance support for professional women's football in England.

Comprehensive Educational Programme

As technical partner, Orreco will leverage its global network of expert sport and data scientists to deliver targeted CPD sessions designed to help managers, coaches, analysts, scouts, and technical directors, together with the sports and data scientists supporting elite players. The collaboration establishes Orreco as the headline sponsor of the LMA and LCA Technical Webinar Series and includes a substantial commitment to educational initiatives delving into highly relevant areas of elite player performance.

As part of its commitment to education and upskilling the professional workforce, Orreco will deliver a series of education sessions focusing on various aspects of elite player performance and recovery through evidence-based, data-driven sports science. These sessions will be made accessible live to the LMA and LCA memberships and on-demand through the LMA Online Platform.

Industry-Leading Expertise

Orreco’s approach combines cutting-edge sports science with advanced data analytics, employing a team that includes 20 PhDs who have collectively published over 400 peer-reviewed research papers. Orreco's biomarker analysis and AI-powered platforms help teams make data-driven decisions to optimise performance, accelerate recovery, and reduce injury risk.

Orreco brings extensive credentials to this partnership, having worked with elite athletes and teams across multiple sports for over two decades. The company's client portfolio includes eight Premier League teams, NBA, NFL and NHL franchises, and multiple World and Olympic champions across various disciplines.

This partnership demonstrates both organisations' commitment to evidence-based professional development and their recognition of the evolving demands of modern football. As clubs increasingly invest in sports science and performance analytics, the collaboration will help ensure that managers and coaches are supported with the knowledge and latest tools necessary to maximise these investments.

Advancing Women's Football

Building on the success of its ground-breaking FitrWoman app and FitrCoach platform, Orreco will become an LMA Women's Game partner, supporting specific activities and services delivered by the LMA and LCA to members working in women’s football.

Orreco's women’s performance programme represents a significant advancement in sports science, addressing the historical lack of research on female athletes and research partnerships with international universities and academics. The FitrWoman app, used by EURO 2025 Champions England’s Lionesses, 11 teams across WSL 1 and 2, WNBA, NWSL teams and USA Swimming, provides personalised suggestions tailored to each athlete’s menstrual cycle.

The company's work with organisations including the FA, WTA, and Women's Super League champions has helped normalise conversations about the menstrual cycle's impact on performance and symptom tracking while providing actionable strategies for optimisation for each individual player.

Orreco will engage directly with LMA and LCA members employed across the WSL and WSL 2 to share research, best practice, and innovative insights, shining a spotlight on important advances in women’s sport science.

LMA Member Services Director and Women’s Game Lead Rebecca Gentle said: “Orreco has already proven itself to add value to teams across elite men’s and women’s sport and we are also encouraged by its ongoing and unwavering commitment to raising standards and support services in the women’s game. We are excited to welcome Orreco’s team as an LMA women’s game partner, with a view to ensuring the managers and coaches in the WSL & WSL 2 can continue to operate at the highest level domestically and on the international stage."

LMA Chief Executive Richard Bevan said: “We are delighted towel come Orreco as our headline sponsor of the LMA and LCA Technical Webinar Series. Through ‘The Game’ pillar of the LMA Institute of Leadership and High Performance personal development model, gaining a greater understanding of sport science is an important aspect of squad management and individual player development. Therefore, the expertise that Orreco has at its disposal will undoubtedly serve as an invaluable resource for LMA and LCA members in the years to come.”

Dr. Brian Moore, Orreco CEO and Co-Founder added: "Demands have never been higher on elite football managers, players, technical staff at every level of the professional game. We are honoured to support the LMA and its members as technical partner. Elite teams are heavily invested in sports science and increasingly in data science, with significant in-house expertise. This initiative from the LMA will offer an additional layer of support for managers and coaches."
