The LMA was proud to attend the recent International Coaches Congress (ITK) hosted by the German BDFL and held in Mainz, Germany. The event, which is recognised as one of Europe’s leading coaching conferences, brought together more than 1,400 coaches and managers from across Germany including a number of LMA and LCA members.
Alongside the LMA, the BDFL is established as one of the world’s leading associations representing football coaches and managers. The LMA is committed to reinforcing its partnership with the BDFL to help provide a unified, collective voice on relevant issues, develop best practice and ultimately support the future development of coaches and managers.
The Congress provided the opportunity for attendees to participate in a comprehensive three-day programme of learning delivered in English and German, focused on the latest tactical and technical innovations, a range of engaging Q&A sessions and practical on-pitch sessions.
Some of the key topics covered at the event included:
• Tactical innovation and emerging trends
• Technical excellence and coaching practice
• Coaching competencies and leadership
• Talent identification and player development
• Goalkeeper-specific coaching
• Psychology and performance environments
• Data, technology and artificial intelligence
• Performance analysis
• Antisemitism in football and wider social responsibility
