LMA Supports Nike Elite Summit with Exclusive Roberto Di Matteo Q&A

The LMA is delighted to have supported Nike and their recent Elite Summit event held at Tottenham Hotspur’s Training Ground.

The Summit brings together some of the most promising young athletes from across football, tennis and athletics for a unique weekend of activities designed to strengthen their connection with the Nike brand whilst supporting their personal and professional development.

As part of this event, the LMA facilitated an engaging and insightful Q&A session featuring UEFA Champions League winning manager, Roberto Di Matteo. Roberto’s open and relaxed style helped generate excellent engagement throughout the session as he drew on his extensive experience in the game to share honest reflections and valuable lessons, including:

• His life and background before pursuing a career in football

• The importance of education, having a Plan B, and preparing for life beyond sport

• His development as a player and the influence of legendary coaches

• The importance of understanding individuals and helping people reach their full potential

• The highlights of his career, both on the pitch and in the dugout

• The key lessons he has learned throughout his journey in football

• His interests away from the game and the importance of family life

Nick Allsop, LMA Commercial Director, commented:

"We’re extremely proud to support Nike across its extensive programme of events and activations. This was the third consecutive year that we have supported the Elite Summit, and each year the feedback from both Nike and the athletes has been excellent with particular reference to the valuable lessons learned and insights gained.

“I’d also like to thank Roberto for his contribution, which helped create a highly engaging and valuable session that resonated strongly with everyone in attendance.

“We look forward to continuing to strengthen our partnership with Nike and supporting future initiatives that provide meaningful learning and development opportunities for the next generation of elite sporting talent."
