Supporting Mental Health Awareness Week 2026

The LMA is proud to mark Mental Health Awareness Week, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of its members.

The theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week (11–17 May) is ‘Take Action’, encouraging individuals, organisations and communities to take positive steps to support good mental health. Throughout the week, the LMA will be sharing insightful resources and content across its social media channels to help raise awareness and highlight its continued commitment to supporting members.

Through its Institute of Leadership and High Performance, the LMA has significantly expanded its mental health and wellbeing provision. This includes a greater focus on performance psychology and the adoption of the recognised Mental Health Continuum. The development of these services demonstrates the LMA’s commitment not only to supporting members through challenging periods and mental health difficulties, but also to providing a broader range of coaching, education and support focused on mental skills, performance optimisation and flourishing.

Rebecca Gentle, Member Services Director at the LMA, said:

“The LMA continues to evolve and enhance its mental health and wellbeing services to meet the ever-changing demands of working in elite sport. Our approach places a strong emphasis on helping members fulfil their potential, build resilience and ultimately thrive in their roles. In line with this, we look forward to continuing to develop both our services and provision.

“Take Action’ is a powerful message, and we recognise the important impact that even small actions can have in promoting positive mental health and wellbeing.”
